Monday Night Training is back with a brand new series; ‘Hot Topics’. Ps Peter Prothero will be unpacking some difficult subjects, helping us understand how to approach and navigate what are often tricky topics. Divorce and Re-marriage in the Church Many believers who have a genuine faith have struggled with failed marriages ever since Jesus’ teaching was interpreted as ‘Once married, always married’. Peter will review both the Old and New Testaments Testament teaching as the foundation for understanding marriage and what provision was made for divorce in the Bible. He will then explore how Jesus and Paul teach in a way that challenges the prevailing views of their day. He will be drawing heavily on work of Biblical scholar David Instone-Brewer who has written a book on this subject. Same sex attraction and LGBT issues. Peter will explore this subject through three lenses.
