At Equippers Church we have loads of teams that operate to make Church happen and serve our local community. We want to provide an opportunity where everyone can use their gifts and strengths to help people meet God and journey with Him. One of our HEART values is “Togetherness” which means that we seek to grow together and live life together with a common vision! Another way of outliving this value is to serve together on a team! Some teams operate on a Sunday, whereas others operate during the week or on an ad-hoc basis. There’s something for everyone!

Hello & Welcome

Our smiley red t-shirted, helpful hosts are the first point of contact for every person who comes into church. We welcome people on the door, look out for new people, and help people feel at home! We also help ensure our services run smoothly. The hosts act as connection points to the life of Equippers – making both personal introductions and connecting people into groups and teams. If you’re happy to talk to people and to get stuck in with our other practical jobs, we’d love to have you in the Hosting Team. It’s also a fantastic way for you to meet new people – both on your team and in the wider church family.

Equippers is well-known for its amazing hospitality. After each of our Sunday services, we put on a spread of delicious food and drink. Being part of this team involves preparing snacks and platters, providing great tea and coffee, and cleaning up afterwards! Our excellent culture of hospitality creates a welcoming space for people to connect.

We are recognised for being a warm and friendly church! We know that first impressions matter and so we like to be outside welcoming new people the minute they enter the car park! If the great outdoors is your thing come rain or shine, and you’re a welcoming, smiley person then this is the team for you (jackets and umbrellas are provided!)! The team are also involved in some set up roles and building checks during the service.

We are passionate about connecting well with new visitors on a Sunday and following up with them during the week. Being part of the connection team involves approaching New Visitors on a Sunday, getting to know them and and helping them feel connected into the church family. All you need is a warm smile and a motivation to approach people you don’t know after the service!


We are looking for people who are passionate about worship and about leading others in worship. If you’re a musician or a singer we would love to hear from you!

Our production team makes Sunday services look and sound amazing! Sound, lights, LED Screens, computers, cameras … if these things make you feel excited then this is the team for you! All of these teams come together to make sure our Sunday services are executed to a high level. No experience necessary as all training will be provided.

Photography & Video
We live in a very visual culture. As the Photography team, our aim is to capture and present who we are and what God is doing! No need to be a pro photographer, or have all the latest gear – if you’re willing to learn we can train you!

Set Up / Pack Down
The set-up and pack-down teams are responsible for getting the building ready for every Sunday services and resetting it afterwards. For the early risers, the pack-in team is perfect for you! We unload trucks and containers, and set up the stage and chairs! At the other end of the day, we’d love for you to help us pack down everything and deliver it to the right place, ensuring each room is reset ready for the next event!


We love and value our children at Equippers and have a lot of fun on Sundays! When Jesus tells His disciples that whoever “welcomes the little children like this is welcoming me”, His message was simple and to the point – children are incredibly important to Him and to His kingdom. What greater example to follow than Jesus in joining the Kids team! You can work alongside children ranging from 18 months – 13 years who are within 3 different age-appropriate programs on a Sunday. All you need is a heart for children and younger youth, a willingness to get involved and a sense of humour – we have some of the best characters coming along.


Our prayer team are available after every Sunday service and most midweek events for anybody who would like to receive prayer. The team follow the five-step prayer model and every member receives training in how to minister to people. Response & New Christians
We always give people an opportunity to respond to what they have heard on a Sunday. The response team are responsible for following up with those who have responded during the service. If you’re interested in finding out more about this team, then email [email protected]



The Hub Coffee House
Open weekdays 8am to 2.30pm, the Hub Coffee house provides the community of Chertsey and Addlestone with a great place to relax, catch up with friends and meet new people. You will be a friendly face to all of our customers, make connections with people from the community, learn how to step out in faith and discover a new love for hospitality through barista training!

FunTots Soft Play
Fun Tots is a colourful indoor play area for children aged 0-5 years. We have a bouncy castle, ride-on toys, fully equipped baby room and much more. We’re open every weekday morning and would love your help in connecting with our customers and littles ones!

Who Let The Dads Out
Who Let The Dads Out? is specifically designed for dads, stepdads, granddads, male carers and their kids aged 0-6 years. WLTDO runs every third Saturday of the month, 9:30 till 12:00. There are lots of things to help with from preparing the breakfast, to setting up the toys and connecting with all those attending! And of course, there is a free bacon roll for those on the team!

Friday Fun
Friday Fun is our fantastic after School club running every week in term time. From face painting to science experiments, crafts and games, it’s a fantastic opportunity for parents, and their kids to come and have fun! We also serve hot meals and drinks in The Hub Coffee House! There will be opportunities for you to assist the team leaders in facilitating the smooth running of all of these things!


Revolution Youth
Revolution Youth is our ministry for young people aged 11-18 years. There are several different aspects to Revolutions Youth. It includes our 5pm church service at Cleves, Friday Night Youth Hubs, Revo Café on Thursdays and our annual Youth Summer Camp, The Brave Age. All of these teams serve as a way to build relationships with the Youth, to invest in them and to journey with them in their faith.

Young Adults & Students
Young Adults is our ministry for those aged between 18 and 30(ish). Whether you’re at University or working a 9-5, Equippers YA is a great community to meet people your age, explore life’s big questions and have heaps of fun. As a member of this team, you’ll help us organise and run our YA events. From weekly connect groups, to Sunday socials, Power Up Nights and our very own YA conference, there is always something exciting going on to get involved with!

Connect Group Hosting
If you have a passion for gathering people in your home and love praying with others, then hosting a Connect Group is for you! All that’s required is a place to meet, a TV and some good coffee and snacks! All the resources are provided, you just need to extend the invitations. If you’re interested, we ask that you try it out for 5 weeks to begin with! Over time, the people in your group will come under your care and you’ll be part of a larger group of Connect Group Hosts learning and leading together.


Design & Media

We have a busy church office where a lot goes on behind the scenes! The administration team assists all our locations through being the main point of call for all enquiries that come into the office! From answering phone calls to responding to emails, proofreading, and content writing for the website and church-wide communications, there are lots of things to get involved with! No previous experience necessary, just sign up and we’ll go from there.

There’s always something going on in the church calendar! We run lots of different events all throughout the year, whether that be smaller midweek events or large conferences. There’s a wide variety of roles that help to make these happen, from preparing food and drink, to registration, event managing, and welcoming on the door. There’s something for everyone, whatever your gifting or passion!

On Sundays, one of the ways in which we reach our local community is by providing free lifts to and from church. We send minibuses to different locations such as the Royal Holloway University and St Peter’s Hospital. We also provide lifts for visiting pastors and guests from airports or hotels to venues and our Sunday services. So if you enjoy driving, whether that be a car or minibus, or have dreams of being a chauffeur or a taxi driver, then this is the team for you!

Whether you are skilled or just willing, come and be a part of our maintenance team. We have buildings, vehicles, and equipment that all need some TLC! We hold ‘Refresh Days’ at the Hub that involve painting, decorating, building, fixing, and cleaning! In addition, we are always looking for plumbers, electricians, mechanics, painters, and so on to help along the way!
